Its almost July and the heat stove is certainly heating up, but some answers still remain un-answered. The main question that need to be addressed is where do the Yankees need to improve. The bullpen has be inconsistent to get to Mariano.  While the rumors are spreading that they will make a move to acquire another bat or a starter, the bullpen is where the work is needed.

The starters have been very consistent except Burnett, and Vasquez has turned his season around to this point after a very disappointing start to the season. Hughes and Sabathia have been lights out this season and have given the team a boost.

A bat is not needed because of the job that Cervelli and Posada are doing as DH and catcher. Nick Johnson comes back soon and you cant put a guy like that on the bench. Lance Berkman is too much money for a rental player although he would tear the ball apart in Yankee Stadium

The reason that bullpen is needed is the simple reason of inconsistency. Joba has an ERA of 5.29 and you never know what your going to get out of it him. Chan Ho Park has an ERA of 6.48. He was supposed to be a big off season signing and so far hasn’t helped out.  Robertson’s has been inconsistent, but has started to turn his season around. If Aceves is out for a long period of time, then a bullpen guy is a must
