The New York Yankees received a pleasant surprise on Sunday when Derek Jeter homered in his first at-bat since coming off the disabled list from a quad strain.

It was the first home run by a right-handed hitter for the Yankees since before the All-Star break.

Along with Jeter’s return, other Yankees such as Jayson Nix and Curtis Granderson are progressing towards coming back as well.

That is great news for the Yankees, who had seemed to be deflating since the All-Star break.

But as the Yankees’ veterans continue to return, we are reminded of the importance of the future, more specifically, who can replace those aging veterans in the coming years?

The New York organization hasn’t been a hotbed for top talent since Jeter came through, along with Mariano Rivera and Andy Pettitte.

Let’s check out how the future of the Yankees is coming along with the weekly stock report of New York’s top minor league prospects.
