A deal that had been a hot rumor for 48 hours appears to be complete.
According to reports, the Arizona Diamondbacks, New York Yankees and Detroit Tigers have agreed on the first blockbuster trade of the winter.
Headed to New York will be centerfielder Curtis Granderson.
Headed to Arizona is starter Edwin Jackson and starter/reliever Ian Kennedy.
Headed to Detroit are pitchers Max Scherzer, Daniel Schlereth and Phil Coke, as well as minor league outfielder Austin Jackson.
Granderson will replace Johnny Damon near the top of the Yankee lineup, and bring solid defense to New York.
Arizona lands a solid, young starter in Jackson and a young pitcher with a lot of upside in Kennedy.
And Detroit clears cap space and loads up with a lot of young talent.
