New York Yankees left-handed relief pitcher Andrew Miller is a valued target for pitching-hungry teams with the Aug. 1 non-waiver trade deadline approaching, and it appears the Yankees have found the right deal to move him.

Indians Trade for Miller
Sunday, July 31
Fox Sports’ Ken Rosenthal reported the Cleveland Indians landed Miller. ESPN.com’s Buster Olney reported the “Yankees [are] expected to get Indians prospects [Clint Frazier and Justus Sheffield] and others in the trade.”
Nationals Interested in Miller
Friday, July 29
Jon Morosi of MLB Network, citing “sources who have spoken” with the Washington Nationals, “believe they would trade Lucas Giolito” for Andrew Miller in a one-for-one deal. However, Jon Heyman of Today’s Knuckleball reported the Yankees were not interested in that deal.
Bill Ladson of MLB.com reported on July 14 the Nationals were interested in Miller. The bullpen is one of Washington’s strengths (tops in baseball in bullpen ERA), but Miller would give it another formidable option.
Miller Appeared Set to Stay in Bronx After Chapman Trade
Miller has been the subject of trade rumors for much of July, and two of the top National League contenders have been on the list of pursuers.
He has been in the league since 2006 and pitched for the Detroit Tigers, the then-Florida Marlins, the Boston Red Sox and the Baltimore Orioles before joining New York for the 2015 campaign.
He appeared to have turned a corner in pinstripes and is well on his way to posting an ERA of sub-2.00 for the first time in his career in 2016:
As if Miller’s resurgence in the Bronx wasn’t enough, he will not be an unrestricted free agent until 2019, per Spotrac.
That extended team control may have given New York more leverage in trade discussions, and Miller is 31 years old.
