Pending approval from the commissioner’s office, the New York Yankees and the Pittsburgh Pirates have agreed to a trade in which A.J. Burnett will be sent to Pittsburgh.

In return, the Pirates will pay $13 million of the $31.1 million left on Burnett’s contract and will send two prospects to the Yankees, pitcher Diego Moreno and outfielder Exicardo Cayones.
