This year’s World Series features two of the best all-around baseball teams in the majors. The Philadelphia Phillies will face off with the New York Yankees for this year’s edition of the championship. The Phillies come in with a 93-69 record as the Yankees come in with a 103-59 record.

If you’re looking for expert MLB World Series Picks , the Phillies have been one of the best teams of the last five years, while the Yankees have been the best team of the last century.

This should be a great series for baseball lovers and casual fans alike. For Game One, the Yankees are favored on the moneyline -170. The first game will be played at the vaunted Yankee Stadium as well.

The series starts out with two powerhouses going head-to-head on the mound. For Philadelphia, 2008 Cy Young award winner Cliff Lee will take the mound. On the other side, CC Sabathia, the former Cy Young award winner and $161 million man will take the mound. Could the pitching matchup be any better? On top of that, they used to be teammates with the Cleveland Indians.

It kind of makes you wonder what would have been if Cleveland could have hung on to these two. This should be a classic pitchers duel at least for the first game of the series.

Besides the stellar pitching matchup, these two teams boast two of the best hitting lineups in the game. For the Phillies, you’ve got a some great hitters, including Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley, and Shane Victorino.

However, the most powerful and feared bat in their lineup is the incomparable Ryan Howard. Howard has been voted the most powerful hitter in the game and his skills should be on full display in this one.

For the Yankees, they bring in the usual big guns including Johnny Damon, Derek Jeter, A-Rod, and Mark Teixeira. This should be a World Series for the ages.
